- I have not read such a book with describable characters such as these in a long time. From the beginning of the book to the very end, I found it to be very insightful, nostalgic, and filled with some memorable tales within the whole book. For anyone who values the quiet and simple life of a small town and its history - as well as some very good descriptions of down home, friends, relationships and some trips down memory lane, this book is tops in my library. I am looking forward to reading the second and third parts of this trilogy.
- There's something for everyone in Scott Waldie's story of eccentric characters living on the Madison River. The historical connection was fun in this book and cleverly made by the author. We can always count on the good guys winning the day in each story, even though they are challenged by the eccentricities of flyfishermen. It may seem like the village is a figment of the imagination, but I suspect that each plot invention has a close cousin in real life. I like to read the Travers Corners trilogy every year or so, just to keep the smile on my face.
- Fishing is the framework, but life is the flesh on the bones of great story telling. This is the first of a trilogy, and all are strong tales that bear multiple readings.
- Each story was was perfect in length and content. Characters are memorable and fun plus they tend to remind me of folks I have met. Can't wait to start the next book.

- Mr. Scott Waldie's series Travers Corners are such a delight... if you have ever lived in a small town, you will relate to all these characters. Bought our first book (which we loaned to someone and lost) in Montana on one of our annual fly fishing trips and fell in love with it.
You wont be disappointed.. you WILL purchase the entire series once you read the first one!

Jud (one of the main characters), his friends and neighbors have come to feel like personal friends. We love these stories and highly recommend the trio of books to any and all that we meet.
